ADVI Strategic Analytics and Value Economics (SAVEs) is hiring for a full-time senior data scientist position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform healthcare claims-based analytics for clients (pharmaceutical industry, medical device manufacturers, and national stakeholders). Analytics will include: health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), market basket assessment of diseases or treatment usage, , and similar studies.
- Designing and executing analyses in Medicare and Medicaid healthcare claims
- Lead in the development and production of deliverables (Excel workbooks and PowerPoint decks) as well as communicating results to the client.
- Manage data analysts and assist in the QA of programs and analyses
Candidates REQUIRED to have:
- Professional experience manipulating healthcare claims datasets with SAS, SQL, STATA, or SPSS. You will not be considered without this requirement.
Candidates should have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferable in a healthcare, economic, or mathematics related field
- At least 7 years of professional experience with at least 5 of which working in SAS, SQL, or other relevant programming experience
- Extensive experience working with health care datasets and performing quantitative research
- Strong skills and experience in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
An ideal candidate may also have:
- Experience working in health care consulting, pharmaceutical/device manufacturer, or for a government agency
- Experience working in HEOR, value and economics outcomes research (VEOR), or real world evidence (RWE) claims experience
- Understanding of health care policy issues in Medicare and/or Medicaid
- Experience writing about health care policies and policy analysis
- Experience reading healthcare regulations and interpreting policies
- Experience working with data offered in the CMS’ Chronic Condition Warehouse
- Experience working in the Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC) offered by CCW
- Experience working with data in Medicare Standard Analytic Files (SAF), Research Identifiable Files (RIF), or Medicaid T-MSIS data
