DESCRIPTION
ADVI is seeking candidates at senior associate level to join ADVI’s Federal and State Policy Solution team. The team focuses on a range of issues including federal and state legislative and regulatory policy, Medicare reform issues, Medicaid and other state health policies, commercial payer coverage and access, and federal budget and deficit reduction issues. ADVI leverages data-driven insights along with our expertise in commercialization, market access and policy to address the most complex healthcare challenges our clients face. We are often called upon to translate how the changing policy landscape impacts the pharmaceutical industry, medtech, digital health, managed services, providers, and consumers. We provide a platform, data, and consulting services including legislative strategy, regulatory analysis, and quantitative modeling of proposed and enacted policies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support assigned solution team to help solve complicated client problems and engage clients with novel solutions and ideas, through both short- and long-term projects and ongoing retainer relationships by conducting qualitative and quantitative research on a diverse array of healthcare issues.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research related to client objectives and deliverables and translate such research into clients’ business implications.
- Work independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the origination, development, and delivery of projects to clients.
- Create written summaries, white papers, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations as part of strategic recommendations to clients.
- Attend and report on government healthcare and life sciences meetings to enhance ADVI’s expertise across Solution areas.
- Undergo an extensive on-the-job training program as an Associate/Senior Associate.

DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCIES
- High-skill level with communications, oral, and written, including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to stakeholders within and outside of ADVI.
- An understanding of federal and state regulatory bodies and government payers including CMS (Medicare Parts A, B, D, and Medicare Advantage), Medicaid (Medicaid FFS and Medicaid health plans), HRSA (340B), and state healthcare programs from coursework or actual experience. An understanding or interest in pharmaceuticals / pharmaceutical policy preferred.
- Course or real-world experience analyzing federal and or state policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation and conveying findings to clients or other stakeholders. Experience with pharmaceutical and biotechnology policy preferred.
- Ability to understand and convey data results, including synthesizing analytical results for a non-analytics focused audience.
- Strong ability to multitask and prioritize work streams effectively under deadline.
- Action-oriented, forward-looking, and strategic with strong sense of urgency and initiative to get things done by influencing others and building relationships in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years experience in relevant health care field
- College degree; advanced degree(s) preferred
- Applicants without a graduate degree are welcome but must possess a variety of work experiences such as performing policy analysis at the federal or state government level, serving as a consultant in a management or reimbursement consulting firm, completing an academic fellowship, or being part of the executive or legislative branch of government in a policy-shaping role
