Dr. Kolodziej utilizes his experience in both the provider and payer world to help ADVI’s clients use tools, platforms, and products of meaningful use and value, with particular expertise in oncology and a focus on cost and quality.

Life Pre-ADVI Health:

Dr. Kolodziej practiced medical oncology for over 20 years in both the academic setting and community oncology. He also served as the Chairman of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and member of the Physician Executive Committee at US Oncology. National Medical Director, Oncology Solutions for Aetna, and Medical Director at Flatiron Health.

Life Beyond
ADVI Health:

Dr. Kolodziej splits his time between Saratoga Springs and New York City. On any given weekend, you might find him at the Saratoga Race Track, rooting for his beloved New York Yankees, enjoying a Broadway show, or cheering on the Fighting Irish football team. He is immensely proud of his children Peter, a health-care data scientist at Optum, and Katherine, a medical student at SUNY-Buffalo. He and his wife Gina are transitioning to an active retirement of travel, good food and drink and time devoted to family and friends.

Full Bio

Dr. Michael Kolodziej helps ADVI and its clients lead the way in payment reform in the healthcare sector. He advises on value-based care and alternative payment models.

Before joining ADVI, Dr. Kolodziej spent years in the oncology provider space, working on evidence-based treatment, trying to extract value from electronic medical records, and improving care delivery models. In 1998, Dr. Kolodziej joined New York Oncology and was a partner in the practice until December 2012. During that time, he led the US Oncology P & T Committee as their medical director, and in 2013 joined Aetna as a National Medical Director, Oncology Solutions.

At Aetna, Dr. Kolodziej directed Aetna’s oncology care delivery reform pilots and was the architect of the Aetna Oncology Medical Home program. He was also active in Aetna’s pharmacy policy, condition analysis, and genetics subcommittees.

Dr. Kolodziej attended college and medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, and completed internal medicine and hematology-oncology training at the University of Pennsylvania.
