Director
Life at ADVI Health:
As director of precision medicine, market access, Sam’s main role is to lead clients through the development of data-informed commercialization and market access strategies, relying on her expertise in clinical genetics, payer policy, and strategic commercial planning to help each client. Sam’s primary focus is improving patient outcomes through the expansion of patient access to precision medicine diagnostics and therapeutics.
Life Pre-ADVI Health:
Before joining ADVI, Sam spent her career as a cardiovascular genetic counselor at Indiana University and Riley Hospital for Children before moving into the market access space. In prior roles, Sam served as a medical policy consultant to regional and national commercial payers as well as state Medicaid plans, advising on medical necessity and evidentiary review for clinical genetic and genomic testing policies. In her most recent role, Sam served as the director of new markets at GeneDx, leading commercial strategy and market access initiatives for exome sequencing, genome sequencing, and newborn screening.
Life Beyond ADVI Health:
Sam spends most of her time playing with her two kids, husband, and rescue dog Ronnie. Sam loves reading, trying new recipes out on friends, sharing her encyclopedic knowledge of pop culture, and watching college basketball, especially her alma mater Indiana University.
Full Bio
Sam earned her B.S. in Biology from Indiana University and her Master’s degree in Human Genetics from the University of Cincinnati. She is a licensed, board-certified genetic counselor, and currently an active diplomate of the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
