Before joining ADVI, Dr. Broder spent 20 years as the President of PHAR, designing, conducting, interpreting, and publishing health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) for clients at life sciences companies.
Life Beyond ADVI Health:
Father of three amazing adults. Loves stand-up paddle boarding, biking, travel, and music (listening, not making).
Full Bio
Dr. Michael Broder has 30 years of experience in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). He graduated cum laude from Harvard with a BS in biology. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University Medical School and a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist. Dr. Broder received his training in health services research at the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program at UCLA Medical Center and concurrently earned a Master’s Degree in Health Services from the UCLA School of Public Health. Before entering the industry, he was on the full-time faculty at the UCLA School of Medicine and a grant-funded researcher at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California.
Dr. Broder has conducted research for industry, specialty societies, and government on a wide range of topics using diverse health service research methods. He has led expert panels to develop guidelines relating to the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease, the treatment of a wide variety of cancers, surgical safety, and stroke prevention. He has published over one hundred articles in peer-reviewed journals as wide-ranging as The Journal of the American Medical Association, American Journal of Managed Care, PLOS One, Blood, and BMC Ophthalmology. In addition, Dr. Broder is the author of two books and multiple book chapters.
