Tara Southwell, JD

Tara joined the team in October 2024 as the director of federal and state policy.  In her role, Tara assists biopharmaceutical clients on a range of policy issues including Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, copay assistance, and drug pricing.

Before joining ADVI, Tara spent more than 10 years at a major pharmaceutical company, providing subject matter expertise to business partners on policy and political changes impacting the industry and patients, including recent changes to drug pricing under the Inflation Reduction Act.  Tara worked collaboratively across several business functions to develop and execute comprehensive strategies to minimize the business impact of policy changes and expand patient access. In her role, Tara also worked with third-party advocates to proactively drive policy changes aimed at expanding patient access.

Outside of work, Tara spends time with her husband, three daughters, and Goldendoodle. When she is not watching her kids participate in one of their many activities, she loves to read, travel to new places, and spend time with family and friends in the mountains and at the lake.
